One of the wonderful things I love about my hometown are the various arts and cultural activities available for young and old. We don’t have to plan a trip out of town to enjoy quality theatre performances and great entertainment. We have several options to choose from.
Whether you are hoping to see a popular singing group or a rising star you will want to review the upcoming shows at the St. Clair College Capital Theatre. The theatre is located in the heart of downtown Chatham. This beautifully reconstructed venue officially re-opened in 2010. There is seating for over 1200, with a grand balcony that offers wonderful viewing. There isn’t a bad seat in the house!
You will also want to consider the Kiwanis Theatre. The theatre seats approximately 665 patrons. Here you can enjoy professional performers or the best of local entertainers. It is also home to two local theatre groups. If you are interested in becoming involved with the theatre you will want to connect with Theatre Kent or Take A Bow Productions. These groups offer a variety of programs and opportunities for every age.
You may also want to consider a visit to the Mary Webb Centre. Located just east of Ridgetown this centre is home to a concert hall and art gallery. You can enjoy performances from well known musical artists, art classes and tours of the art gallery. The centre has recently been approved for funding to build a large addition. The addition will provide more opportunities for cultural experiences in the area.
If you love the performing arts and entertaining cultural events you may just want to visit Chatham-Kent! An affordable and welcoming community with big city options.
